Father Bing on Exorcism and Deliverance Prayer
I had a friend who went to EWTN in the summer to a conference for Priest lead by the Alliance of the Two Hearts. The conference was called the AHFI International Clergy Retreat.
The theme was “Relevance of Deliverance and Exorcism in Spiritual Direction.”
He said it was an incredible orthodox, holy experience of priest speaking about fighting the devil in the name of Jesus Christ.
I heard audio recordings of the conference and was amazed at the speakers intelligence and love for Jesus and Mary.
Fr. Edgardo “Bing” Arellano, Spiritual Director of the Alliance of the Holy Family, Inc has a series of videos on youtube which are very helpful in the areas of Deliverance Prayer and Exorcism.
Let me know what you think?

I have never heard of a single saint who mentioned Deliverance prayers. Where did this ministry rise up from ? I basically don’t feel comfortable with that stuff. Even St. Jean Vianney never mentioned this and look at the battles with the evil one he fought and also St. Pio amongst others like St. Faustina never mentioned deliverance prayers. I think this stuff is dangerous and should be stopped. Where in the Catechism or Church teaching does it talk about deliverance prayers. Exorcism prayers are for Priests alone.

Frances,
Thanks for your input. Your right some of it is a little scary. First, I am not advocating anything, but just sharing what others have found to be helpful.
The Catechism is a summary of the Catholic Faith or a “reference text for teaching catholic doctrine and particularly for preparing local catechisms.” Throughout the Catechism we see paragraphs concerning sin, evil, the rupture of communion with God regarding sin, forgiveness, and an entire section devoted to prayer. In addition every time we pray the “Our Father” we ask the Lord to “deliver us from evil.” What we don’t see in the Catechism would be certain topics that go deeper into particulars like the Mass (GIRM) or any of the documents from Vatican II.
You are correct in stating this topic needs to be investigated by the Bishops and theologians, but everyone should be vigilantly in communion with God through prayer. Also, just because the basics are not expanded in the Catechism, doesn’t mean it is not expanded somewhere else in our Tradition.
Lastly, when reading about St. Padre Pio or St. John Vianney we hear vivid accounts of their own personal physical trails with the devil.

There is a wonderful book I am doing a study on for our course to be offered on Deliverance and exorcism in which John Labriola quotes 750 saints, Catholic Church documents, etc. for this very purpose. Many of the saints spoke on protection from the evil spirits in forms of prayers and living a holy life. St. Padre Pio is a wonderful example. The book is entitled, “Onward Catholic Soldier” and is a must read for spiritual warfare. Check it out. By the way, the Our Father and Hail Mary along with the St. Michael the Archangel prayer are simple forms of deliverance prayers that can ward of evil. The Catechism won’t speak directly about this because it is a compendium of the teachings of the Catholic Church as a guide to Catholic teaching. One must search further. And that is why many are beginning now to speak up and write on this very topic.

Binding spirits is not mentioned in the Catechism. This is not Catholic teaching. It is dangerous and the Bishops should investigate this stuff in our Church.

“O gracious and Holy Father, give us wisdom to perceive you, diligence to seek you, patience to wait for you, eyes to behold you, a heart to meditate upon you, and a life to proclaim you; through the power of the Spirit of Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Prayer of Saint Benedict)

I’d like to ask you if you have never heard about st Bendedict, that our Pope Benedict VI is greatly honouring his name, if not I will suggest you three videos of Fr Bing about st Benedict, Patron of Europe, who converted Europe by driving out evil spirits with deliverance prayer. So, you have to learn more about saints …. but its better to wear a st Benedict medals that will remind you that “fighting or binding evil spirits” is catholic teaching and also protect you from any malicious of bad spirits. The followed video explain the meaning of st Benedict medal:

I am adding some scriptures where Jesus rebuked evil spirits:
Luke 8:29
For Jesus had commanded the impure spirit to come out of the man. Many times it had seized him, and though he was chained hand and foot and kept under guard, he had broken his chains and had been driven by the demon into solitary places.
Mark 5:8
For Jesus had said to him, “Come out of this man, you impure spirit!”
Mark 9:25
.. Jesus rebuked the impure spirit. “You deaf and mute spirit,” he said, “I command you, come out of him and never enter him again.”
Here is on the videos of fr Bing about st Benedict.

We are very blessed to have such holy exorcist priests and their ministries; its a very powerful God’s gift that is given us through them delivering us from the chains of Lucifer.
We must thank you God for this grace and never to doubt in their hard work or in our catholic faith. I remember what an exorcist priest told us: if there is any doubt there is a hidden impure spirit that you do not know.
I will pray for you that st Benedict intercedes for your protection and intentions.

I am deeply greatful that our Diocese bishop has granted the delagation to expel evil spirit on those who have fall prey to the devils snares. In a large percent if only people would reveal their dark deep sinful secrets in confession the darkness of their souls would receive the Light of God and his mercy and forgiveness. But unfortunately pride, shame or the appetite of the flesh has denied them or blinded them to believe that it is not necessary.
By the time they come to me they are in despair, depressed, filled with anxiety or into pornography, with all its impurities or into evil spiritual games or pracitices Quija, withcraft Satan worshipping or Black Masses.
Most priest are not trained in the seminaries for deliverance or exorcism, solely because it is not a part of their studies, so they either become frighten or dismiss the confessor with comments like I do not believe in those things, they are old fashion tales, or they suggest seeing a psychologist.
I have been doing deliverance for several years, in fact I did three last night and about six a week with a long waiting list and in most cases the demons leave after about three hours of calling him out with a loud scream.
If you are catholic and believe in God you best believe that there is a devil and he is very, very alive today in our lives. This is the first time I openly address my ministry and it is not that I need the business becasue I very ever excepted money from anyone not even gas money. It is a gift that God has blessed me and that the bishop who really cares for his sheep has delagated me to do and more important I love doing he Lords miracle and works on earth for Him. May the Lord keep you safely under the wings of St. Michael to protect you.
Our Lady’s Servant,
