		<description>J.P., you&#039;re right. Deacons can bless water using the modern form of the Roman Rite. But they cannot bless water using the older form, precisely because it incorporates priestly exorcism. For the same reason, they cannot bless salt.</description>

		<description>Thanks for putting this information up.  I have been searching for it.  Most Catholic Churches today no longer add the exorcist prayers when they bless Holy Water. I found one in New Jersey that still does it.  I think it is needed in todays world.</description>
